Deep-sea sponge associated bacteria bioprospecting

This BioProject, part of the Bristol Sponge Microbiome Collection (BISECT), presents a few bacterial genomes from deep-sea sponge microbiomes in the mid-Atlantic. The objective is to explore the untapped genetic diversity of these communities, potentially harbouring novel antimicrobial compounds. These data provide insights into unique metabolic pathways, secondary metabolite production, and the functional potential of deep-sea sponge-residing bacteria.
