Note that in addition to the stated uncertainties the GICC05 counting error applies. However, as shown in figure 5, this error is likely overestimated for the investigated period and probably smaller than +-75 years (see also Muscheler et al. 2014, doi:10.1016/j.quascirev.2014.08.017). The close agreement between the placement of P305/A15 on GICC05 and IntCal13 (figure 7) supports this notion.The P305u GICC05 ages are based on figure 7 but are nearly identical to what is shown in figure 5The A15 GICC05 ages are based on figure 7, assuming a link between P305u and A15 at ring 150 of P305u (figure 6). We added an additional uncertainty of +-20 years to this link based on the Chi2 statistic shown in figure 6a.The P317 GICC05 ages are based on figure 5, but excluding links that would imply an overlap between P305u and P317 (see figure 6b and discussion in the text).
