Echinocandin microevolution causes resistance in Candida parapsilosis

Fungal diseases emerging worldwide. Among Candida species antifungal resistance becoming a large danger. C. parapsilosis is one of the causative agents of candidiasis and this species has the highest MIC value to echinocandins, however echinocandin resistant clinical isolates are extremely rare. To reveal the mechanisms how C. parapsilosis can adapt to echinocandins, we directly selected C. parapsilosis to resist against each echinocandins and we performed whole genome sequencing on this strain.
