Transcriptomic signature of cold and heat stress in the benthic foraminifera Amphistegina lobifera

Specimens were collected in July 2018 when average ambient temperature was 29C. The specimens were kept in the lab for 3 weeks prior to being divided into three temperature treatments - 15C, 25C, and 32C. After an additional 3 weeks the samples were collected for RNA extraction. Total RNA was extracted using a Plant and Fungi purification Kit manufactured from Thorold, Canada. Samples were processed by Technion Genome Center in Israel according to the Illumina TruSeq RNA Library Preparation Kit v2. The constructed libraries were sequenced in a single lane on an Illumina HiSeq 2500 System.
