Microplankton abundance at bottle station SEPT-1999-K7

Microplankton species composition analysis was performed according to the Utermöhl (1958) inverted microscope method. Samples for the identification and enumeration of larger phytoplankton cells (>5µm), were preserved in alkaline Lugols solution. The following groups: Diatoms, Dinoflagellates and Coccolithophores were determined at species level when possible, or at higher taxonomic levels.
