Until now, substances of pharmacy have been prepared especially in the crystalline state for obvious reasons of stability. Nevertheless, complex active pharmaceutical ingredients are more and more formulated in the amorphous state, because this state exhibits a larger solubility than the crystalline one. There is several methods of amorphisation, and one of the opened question is to know if there is some structural differences between amorphous obtained by different ways. We thus carried out an experiment on D3,ILL aiming to investigate microstructural signature of amorphous obtained by different techniques. However, a proper treatment of the raw datas requires the knowledge of the total cross sections and the effective temperatures of atoms in the system. VESUVIO is particularly suited for measuring such quantities, and is then the instrument of interest in this proposal.
