Sources: Systematic investigation of the "Fruchtpreisbuecher" {"fruit price books"} from 1531 to 1674 archived in the municipal Archives in Cologne (they contain under a Sunday date information on the turnover from the previous week for wheat, rye, barley and oats as well as the average market price for each type of grain), the detailed "Baeckerbescheidbuecher" {"bakers' notification books"} from 1658 to 1773 and the price and turnover registers from 1773 to 1797.
