An exploration of the bacterial community composition of two deep-sea Pheronema carpenteri sponge aggregations from the North Atlantic

Pheronema carpenteri was found to be a strong candidate from which to recover antibiotic-producing. Next-generation sequencing of bacterial 16S rRNA genes and a single metagenome was used to investigate the diversity and composition of the bacterial communities in P. carpenteri.
