Genotyping-by-sequencing of harbour seal Phoca vitulina from northern British Columbia through California and comparison to Newfoundland and Quebec

This study uses double-digest restriction-site associated (RAD)-sequencing to genotype harbour seal individuals from multiple locations on the west and east coast of Canada. Samples were obtained from California, Oregon, and southern and northern British Columbia, as well as Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador. Goals included characterization of population structure, comparative genomic diversity from different populations, and identification of differentiating and high heterozygosity markers for future tool development.
