The compositions of secondary phyllosilicates and the void space throat size distributions of Lipnice granite from the MEL-5 borehole vary depending on fracturing and alteration facies sampled at different levels of the borehole. Together, the two datasets may be used in similar geological settings to estimate the order of magnitude of porosity and permeability of granite based on simple chemical parameters obtained for example on drill cuttings.
