The paper describes forms and functions of tense and aspect in the Slavonic Languages. Main emphasis has been laid on the common Slavonic features. This is the background for also profiling specific features of single languages or groups of languages. Following Dickey (2000) the aspectual area is devided into eastern and western languages. The tense area is split into northern and southern languages. The aspectual functions are described on the lexical, morphological, syntactic and discourse level, the functions of the tenses on the morphological and the discourse level.
