Vibrio cholerae 2012EL-2176

In September of 2012, a Vibrio cholerae isolate from Haiti was found to be resistant to additional antimicrobials compared with previous isolates from the ongoing outbreak. Analyses confirmed that this variant belonged to the outbreak and had acquired new resistance determinants located on a MDR-IncA/C plasmid.
