We plan to perform polarized neutron reflectometry (PNR) on an epitaxial FePt(10nm)/FePt3(60nm) bilayer grown on a MgO(110) substrate. One particularity of this exchange bias (EB) system is that the FePt layer has its easy magnetization axis canted 45 degree out of plane. We already resolved the spin structure of the antiferromagnetic FePt3 layer using nuclear resonant scattering. PNR will be used to obtain the magnetic depth profile of the ferromagnet during magnetization reversal and will allow to obtain complete information on the spin configuration at both sides of the interface of this EB system.
