The multi-grip and standard myoelectric hand prosthesis compared: Does the multi-grip hand live up to its promise?

DOI

Two datasets were included: 1. CSV/Excel-file with test scores of the Box and Blocks Test and Southampton Hand Assessment Procedure performed with the standard and multi-grip myoelectric hand prosthesis (within-group comparisons/paired measurements; N=14). 2. CSV/Excel-file with test scores of users from the standard myoelectric hand prostheses (N=19) and multigrip myoelectric hand prosthesis users (N=14) of several questionnaires/scales (between-group comparison). These questionnaires/scales include the Orthotics and Prosthetics Users’ Survey - The Upper Extremity Functional Status Survey, Trinity Amputation and Prosthesis Experience Scales for upper extremity, Research and Development-36, EQ-5D-5L, visual analogue scale with user opinions, the Dutch version of the Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction with assistive technology, and the patient-reported outcome measure to assess the preferred usage features of upper limb prostheses.

Due to the small group of people with upper limb absence in the Netherlands, we do not provide any personal details in these datasets. The datasets only contains data from the participants that were included in the analyses. A codebook to interpret the data was added as a PDF file.

Nienke Kerver and Verena Schuurmans contributed equally to the publication associated with this dataset.
