Avoided level crossing muon spin resonance (ALC-muSR) is an exceptional tool for determining the structure and probing the dynamics of radicals but there have been only a few muSR studies of organometallic radicals. The Mu adducts of ferrocene have been studied by ALC-muSR and longitudinal field muon spin relaxation (LF-muSR) in the solid-state, but these experiments have provided little information about the structure of the radicals. The hyperfine coupling constants, from which the structure is inferred, are best measured in the liquid phase. We will use ALC-muSR to determine the structures of the Mu adducts of Mu adducts of ferrocene and a substituted ferrocene in the liquid phase. We will study a 0.3 M solution of ferrocene in cyclohexane and 1,1¿-diethylferrocene, which is a neat liquid.
