Using a long-read next-generation sequencing, we describe an approach to explore the variable lymphocyte receptor B (VLRB) antibody repertoire of jawless vertebrates. We developed a computational platform for the analysis of large-scale VLRB sequence data that, on the one hand, allowed us to conduct a detailed VLRB repertoire in individual sea lamprey larvae. Our demonstration of computational analysis of the VLRB repertoire represents the first step towards developing machine learning strategies to rapidly isolate VLRB sequences with desired antigen specificity. The SRA (SRR29656293) contains 6 animal samples multiplexed in one library sequenced in one lane of the PacBio Platform.
