Dataset of zooplankton community composition and abundance, waterbody characteristics, physical, and chemical data from 3 French Peri-Alpine lakes (Geneva, Annecy, Bourget). Samples have been collected monthly and bimonthly in the top 50 m using a 200 µm plankton net and identified to the species level.
The dataset is part of a large initiative, the Zooplankton International Geospatial (ZIG) dataset, which includes zooplankton data from 311 inland lakes and reservoirs. ZIG aims to provide a comprehensive data collection to explore the role of zooplankton as indicators of environmental change.
