environmental DNA sequencing of catch water for estimating species composition

This project utilised Nanopore sequencing and metabarcoding to analyse environmental DNA (eDNA) samples collected from an onboard catch holding tank (catch water) in demersal bottom trawling fisheries. Samples were obtained from ten fishing hauls targeting Norway lobster and Atlantic cod (roundfish) from a fishing vessel operating in the Skagerrak (North-East Atlantic). The project aimed to estimate catch composition using eDNA metabarcoding and Nanopore sequencing.
