Structural phase transition in SnSe with ultra low thermal conductivity

DOI

SnSe has recently been reported to have very good thermoelectric performance. This is linked to an ultralow thermal conductivity and occurs in the B-phase (ZT > 2 above 800 K). We propose to investigate the structural phase transition from the A to B phase in detail, and to determine the temperature dependence of the thermal displacement parameters. This information will be linked to the observed ultralow thermal conductivities.
