SUPPLEMENTARY DATA for: Aging, cardiovascular risk and SHBG levels in men and women from the general population

DOI

Prior studies have reported inconsistent results for the association between sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) and cardiovascular disease among men and women. Although it is suggested that SHBG levels change with aging, the exact trend of SHBG across age and cardiovascular risk, and the underlying mechanisms of these changes remain to be elucidated. Using data of 3264 men and women from a large population-based cohort study, we visualized the distribution of serum SHBG levels across age.
