This dataset was created to assess the influence of pandemic mitigation measures during the COVID-19 pandemic on the nutritional and neurodevelopmental status of children aged 1-6 years in El Codito, Bogotá, Colombia. Two groups were studied: 70 children from the beginning of 2019 (pre-pandemic) and 48 children from the first semester of 2022 (post-pandemic). All children aged 1-6 years attending the five participating community welfare homes run by the Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar were eligible to participate. Data from 2019 included birth date, evaluation date, sex, age, weight, height, and scores of the EAD 3 (Escala Abreviada de Desarrollo 3, created by the Colombian Ministry of Health and the United Nations Children´s Fund). Growth was assessed using weight-for-height, height-for-age, BMI-for-age, and weight-for-age percentiles from the Colombian Ministry of Health. Height measurements were taken with a tape measure while the child was standing in front of a wall, without shoes. Weight was measured while the child was dressed, but without shoes and jacket. Children’s neurodevelopment was assessed using the EAD 3, which evaluates gross/fine motor skills, hearing/language skills, and personal/social skills through play and asking parents about the behaviour of their child. In 2022, the same data was collected along with a questionnaire completed by the mothers of participating children, covering sociodemographics, child development, and the family´s experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. The questionnaire included questions on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the family, based on the validated COVID-19 Family Exposure and Impact Survey (CEFIS) of the Center for Pediatric Traumatic Stress.
