Evaluating the diversity and activity of marine archaea via 16S rRNA gene and transcript sequencing

This study evaluates the diversity and activity of marine archaea via 16S rRNA gene and transcript sequencing. This method is complementary to evaluation of the activity of these organisms by evaluating the differential uptake of isotope labeled bicarbonate and amino acids with nano-scale secondary ion mass spectrometry and isotope ratio mass spectrometry.
