Global estimated surfaces of Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT) and Mean Sea Level (MSL)

DOI

The dataset is a netcdf surface model at a 1/16 deg resolution over the globe. The dataset contains two surfaces : Mean Sea Level (MSL) above WGS84 reference ellispoid and Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT) referred to mean sea level surface. The LAT model is derived from FES2014 : FES2014 was produced by Noveltis, Legos and CLS and distributed by Aviso+, with support from Cnes (https://www.aviso.altimetry.fr/) The LAT prediction module was run over 18 years (2003-2020) to retrieve a min values surface all over the world. The MSL surface is derived from MSS_CNES_CLS18 by resampling to LAT surface extend and resolution. MSS_CNES_CLS18 was produced by CLS and distributed by Aviso+, with support from Cnes (https://www.aviso.altimetry.fr/) This surface model is used by Globe prediction module to predict tide referred to ellipsoid, MSL or LAT
