Metal and Core Phase composition of Renaissance bronzes.

DOI

We propose a continuation of the determine the bronze composition of the different parts of three Renaissance Bronzes. These bronzes are of mutiple parts which have been joined together. Added by neutron tomography reconstructions we will select the relevant parts of the objects. In the continuation study we would like to complete our studies by obtaining data on the arms, flute added leg and internal metal joints.Forthe winged Putto we would make an detailed study of the areas where the different parts are jointed with metal screws and a further study of the left wing in order to understand the multiple scattering due to the shape effect.A further putto requires a full investigation. In this study we will also use the transmission detector to obtain information on casting and working on these objects, as well as a gamma detector for elememtal analysis via NRCA spectra.
