A dynamic data storage containing the data presented in the Field Observatory website (https://www.fieldobservatory.org). The data is described in the article Nevalainen et al., 2022, https://doi.org/10.5194/gi-11-93-2022.

Instrum. Method. Data Syst., https://doi.org/10.5194/gi-11-93-2022, 2021.
The data is dynamic and updates every 30 min (every 5 and 35 past the hour). Please note that the data are provisional and will be subject to further quality control. The data storage system is Amazon Web Service (AWS) Simple Storage Service (S3 bucket). The data is described in the article https://doi.org/10.5194/gi-11-93-2022. Background information can also be found from the Field Observatory website https://www.fieldobservatory.org/.
The data includes data from:
- 3 intensive agricultural research sites that have continuous eddy covariance flux measurements and on-site meteorological sensors. Qvidja and Ruukki sites are operated by the Finnish Meteorological Institute and Haltiala site by the University of Helsinki.
- 20 pilot farms participating in the Carbon Action platform (https://carbonaction.org/) in Finland. Each of these sites have one carbon farming field and one control field.
- 1 pilot farm (Höjä) in Sweden (member of Svensk Kolinglarging platform, https://kolinlagring.se/).
The data consists of:
- Near-real-time data from FMI's and Helsinki University's eddy covariance flux measurement sites
- Weather data from FMI's weather stations
- Ecosystem modelling results produced by the FMI
- Online soil sensor data
- Satellite observations from Sentinel-2 satellites (NDVI, LAI)
- Atmospheric radiation data from Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service
- Agricultural management information received from farmers
- Weather data from the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute
- Orthophotos from the National Land Survey of Finland
The spatial data (included in the GeoJSON files) for the all sites, excluding Qvidja, Ruukki, Haltiala, site MU and Höjä, has been obfuscated to respect the privacy and personal information of the farmers.
As the data is updating every 30 min and data update might occur during user’s download, we recommend that the users first downloads the site-specific site.json files (files that include metadata about the available data files) and then the data files.
