The aim of our experiment is to map out the excitation spectrum of the recently-discovered superconducting AxFe2Se2 system for energy transfers of up to 250 meV. This superconductor stands out from the other Fe-based superconductors in that superconductivity coexists with strong magnetic order. Our first objective is to measure the magnetic spectrum throughout the Brillouin zone, to determine the character of the magnetic excitations and the magnetic interaction strength. Our second objective is to search for any changes in the spectrum induced by superconductivity, such as the resonant magnetic excitation found in other Fe-based superconductors.
