A SINGLE NUCLEOTIDE VARIANT OF cGMP-DEPENDENT PROTEIN KINASE (PKG) IS SUFFICIENT TO CONFER RESISTANCE TO MARINOPYRROLE A DERIVATIVE RL003

This work aimed primarily to evaluate underlying genetic components facilitating resistance to, and potential mechanistic insights into, the novel and potent pyrrolomycin derivative RL003 against the obligate intracellular pathogen Toxoplasma gondii. We performed both whole-genome sequencing and RNA-seq on resistant and wild-type parasites to evaluate genomic and transcriptional changes associated with compound resistance.
