3D models accompanying Master thesis: Investigating the limits of 3D scanning and modeling

These 3D models accompany the Master thesis: Investigating the limits of 3D scanning and modeling. The research aimed at studying the possibility of creating research quality 3D models of Bronze Age Gündlingen swords with an Artec Space Spider and Artec Studio 16. In order to determine this, the impact fractures on the 3D models were studied and compared to microscopic research. It was concluded that the required resolution is not yet acquired.

The 3D models are included in this dataset in interoperable file formats WaveFront Object and Polygon file format. The original Artec data formats are archived separately at DANS because of their large file size. To obtain access to the original data, please contact DANS at info@dans.knaw.nl.
