Microbiome patterns in the gastrointestinal tract and diet of the surgeonfish Acanthurus triostegus

This study focused on the gut microbiome of an ecologically important coral reef fish that is expanding its distribution in response to climate change, the surgeonfish Acanthurus triostegus. We sought to understand the extent to which bacteria associated with the diet of this species contribute to the gut microbiome of these fish.
