We have prepared a new series of layered tellurides Cr2-xInxGe2Te6, containing 2D ordered arrays of (Cr,In) cations and (Ge-Ge) pairs. Recent neutron measurements reveal indium susbtitution induces structural changes. The 3-layer structure of the parent (x=0) is retained at low levels of substitution, whilst in the region 0.4<x1.4) end of the series. We wish to investigate the relative stability of the three structural regions by collecting powder neutron diffraction data in the range 300<T/K<900. We wish to establish whether (i) the 3-layer structure transforms to a 2-layer variant with increasing temperature; (ii) the 3- and 2-layer structures convert to a CdI2 (1-layer) type structure at elevated temperatures; (iii) intra- and inter-layer disordering occurs at the highest temperatures
