Low Energy Dispersion of a Stripe-Ordered, Hole-Doped Antiferromagnet

DOI

Our previous studies of the hole-doped antiferromagnet La1.75Sr0.25CoO4 have shown the distinctive "Hour-Glass" dispersion attributed to magnetic and charge ordered stripes. However, the low energy dispersion is still unclear due to the poor energy resolution of the MAPS spectrometer at these energies. We propose to measure the low energy dispersion on the MERLIN spectrometer to give an better indication of how the hour-glass dispersion changes with decreasing doping and investigate potential phase separation in the La1.75Sr0.25CoO4 compound. A one-third-doped sample, La5/3Sr1/3CoO4, will also be measured at these energies as a reference for a clean, hour-glass dispersion.
