The data set explores the transcriptome of peripheral mononuclear white blood cells by RNASeq methodology, from sows that were sampled twice, at 98 days of gestation (G98, n=24) and 11 days of lactation (L11, n=28). The BEPPI project aimed to determine biomarkers of psychosocial states in sows, by investigating the effects of housing (conventional pen vs. environment enriched by deep straw litter and higher surface per animal), dominance in the group (dominant vs. subordinate), the level of social exploration (sows displaying high vs. low frequency of social nosing), as well as the effect of parity (low vs. high parity rank).
The dataset includes the tables cited in the data paper “Dataset describing the effects of housing environment, dominance status and parity during gestation and lactation on the PBMC transcriptome of sows during gestation and lactation” (Tables 1 to 8, data paper under revision), and additional data, described in the word file “Metadata.docx”.
