Magnetism in novel organic/inorganic hybrid spin-valve nanostructures.


We request 5 days (15 shifts) with CRISP to perform specular measurements on novel functionalized SrTiO3(substrate)/complex FM oxide/small molecules/ FM metal nanostructures to obtained detailed microscopic picture of magnetization at the interface and its evolution with temperature and magnetic field. To investigate the effect of the organic layer-spacer thickness on coupling between the magnetic layers we will fabricate a set of samples with increasing thickness of the spacer, namely 20, 50, 75 and 100 nm and keeping the magnetic layers thickness constant in 20 nm. Before the neutron reflectivity experiment all the samples will be characterized with various advanced scanning probe microscopies, SHG, SQUID and magneto-transport in an applied field up to 9 T.
